The resonator walls are thick enough to be used for a bullet proof vest. The inlay on the fingerboard is not MOP.MOTS maybe. It has a mahogany rim (block), not laminated. ![]() However it's not in the same ballpark as your Yates, Hubers, Hatfields, Gibsons, and Stellings. It was a good banjo for me when I first started learning to play. I think that was the only difference between the 1 and 2 series.I could be wrong. I'm thinking the MGB-2 had the carving on the neck heel hand stop area. I left it out on the curb for the garbage truck to pick up.I also had to remove the resonator first in case a child crawled inside and couldn't get out.just kidding Paula. I have an MGB-1 wreath inlay like the photo on the 's actually in pieces now.
